September 15th is Guatemalas Independence Day, so Luca and I got ready for the day in Guate gear--and then headed out to shop with Grandma Rosie for the usual Fiambre dinner.
This kids faces lately.
We went to the brown store to get most of the veggies, and Luca got a Guatemalan bread thing to chow down while we shopped--it was super messy--but he loved it, and it kept him occupied!
After shopping Luca took a nap before all the rest of the fun. When he woke up I could hear him playing in there, so I went up to find him and a pile of wipes--those have since been moved to a higher shelf. This was a brand new pack--he opened it himself.
I got started on all the meat for the fiambre after he got up--again, having Nicole here has been so nice in these times.
Grandma and Grandpa came, and we assembled the salad--and everyone ate up. I ate meat--the salad isn't for me--but it still counts--and even Nicole tried some before she went to work.
Happy Independence Day to Guatemala!
Aw Nicole's first guat holiday
