The one with the Tulip Festival!

Luca and I spent the day with Kelly and Thomas at the Tulip Festival! It was a beautiful--hot hot day! We had a blast.

This is my favorite favorite picture of the entire day. My word. It makes me laugh everytime!! I can't handle it.

Before we left when we were getting ready Luca occupied himself in the mirror. It's been a favorite lately, I just haven't gotten any pictures! He likes to eat his own face.

He also has a new favorite show, the baby channels "art and music" however--opposite of his cousin Grant, he only likes the music parts. Once they are over his interest is lost.

I caught him in the act again watching like a crazy--I swear after I take these pictures I move him so he's not going to kill his little neck.

Then we headed off to Kelly's to meet up before the festival. Seriously Thomas and Luca are amazed by each other. Probably because they are both tiny little men together. Good grief. I can't get enough of them together. Sorry for the overload. I tried alone to get their attention while Kelly was gathering last minute things, and could never get both of them to look up, and then Kelly came to help! We still didn't get both smiling--baby steps.

Haha. My child only smiled in my favorite one. And yes. Here it is again.

I've never been to the tulip festival and if you haven't--and you live in Utah you must go!! It's so amazing! You just walk a trail through all these amazing colored flowers! Some of them were up to my hips!

You can even rent a golf cart or Segway to roll around on! We didn't do that with two babes and strollers but it would have been awesome!! One day we will try those out!

We tried to get a picture of the boys in the flowers but Thomas was too distracted by the flowers, and Luca wouldn't look up because it was too sunny. I don't blame either of them.

Seriously the greeness of this year is killing me. I LOVE IT!! It makes me so happy. It's all over the place!

Luca tired out Thomas's hat for a bit, and I wasn't paying much attention--it was too big--in this picture he was freaking out trying to figure out what was happening and trying to get it off. It was so hilarious. I just watched for a bit. I wish I had recorded it.

The boys got sick of their strollers after a bit so we got them out to hang out on the grass. Luca only wanted to touch the grass.

Then Luca showed off his new skill! He rocks like crazy and hangs out up on his knees for ever! It won't be long now!

We tried to get Thomas on board but he didn't want to be a part of that.

Thomas shared his snacks with Luca--he loves those guys. We are going to have to get some! They last so much longer than puffs!

We had so much fun out with our buddies!! We need to do it more often!

We met up with dad at the Liv Showroom to pick out final colors and fabrics for the restaurant after that. I think we finally have it all set! It's going to look fabulous!

Daddy wanted to go see Spider-Man 2 today too. So we did. That didn't work out so well though for Luca and I. However we lasted until like the last 45 minutes! Which I was impressed by. It's a long movie.

I didn't have a blanket for him, we got it all dirty on the ground at the festival, but he was soooo tired. I tried everything to get him to take a nap but it wasn't happening. I knew he wanted to just be swaddled but I didn't have anything to use! I held his arms down, put them between him and me and held him close so he felt like he was swaddled but, no dice.

So when I got desperate I realized what I could try. I put his arms inside his shirt, like I was taking it off, but I didn't, just left him stuck in there. And off to sleep he went. Almost immediately. It was hilarious and pretty ridiculous all at once.

See his arm stuck in there? :)

We practiced more crawling motions when we got home! He will get to what he wants, one way or another. I should try with the remote. I bet he would come right for it!

We took another walk last night and Luca and dad played the whole time.

Jose was scratching the side of the stroller there by his head. He thought it was the best game ever. He got super mad when Jose wasn't constantly doing it. He would scratch back when he wanted more. Clever boy.

The one with greeness!

Sara and I were just discussing the other day how much greener things seem to be this year. And how much we love it! Utah is a brown brown brown place, and it makes me sad sometimes. But holy cow. We must have had a ton more rain than normal this year! And yay for that! I was driving to meet Kelly for lunch and some errands and I couldn't help but notice the beauty all around me!

Do you see all that?? It is so not normal! But I hope it sticks around! I love it! It makes me happy happy.

Kelly and Thomas came up for the day, we swapped recipes--we are arrempting to be better house wives, and actually cook--it's easier with a buddy!  Props to all you women that cook everyday. I envy that talent of yours. I'm horrible at it. But we are getting better!

Anyway. We swapped recipes, bonded about all the crazy things our children are doing, and all the things that drive us crazy. It's also wonderful to have a buddy to discuss things with, that is going though the exact same stages!

I can't believe I didn't take any pictures! Dang it. I never had my phone at opportune times. Luca is finally catching up and being a normal-er size baby, Thomas only has a few pounds and inches on him now! They actually look like they are close in age now!

After they left Luca and I took a walk. In the burning heat. Goodness. It started out so chilly this morning, I was prepared for that, and by halfway through our walk I was dying! Not cool. But it's all good. When daddy got home we took another one together in the coolness.

Do not judge me on the amount of tv my child seems to watch. I swear we don't sit and watch hours a day. In fact, I'm lucky to make it through 10 minutes of a show without an interruption.

He really likes Ellen. Seriously. He will get himself into an incredibly uncomfortable position just to watch her. I think that is acceptable.

And then. There is his favorite favorite thing. Which I also deem not only acceptable but pretty flipping awesome. It doesn't matter what is happening, he can be screaming, laughing, crying, silent, playing, whatever and he will stop, and find where it's coming from and watch and just be happy.

The Arthur theme song. Seriously. I am so darn proud of that boy. And also of myself a little. Even Jose likes it now. I have surpassed even my own expectations.

Yes. We watch it. Almost daily. Don't judge. We love Arthur.

It's so bizarre how it never fails. I have demonstrated to many people. Sara got the best I think. He was super frustrated on the floor crying and I played it, it took him a minute to hear it, but once he did he laughed and then was quiet. It's my own personal baby whisperer.
