The one with a whip cream bath.

I'm trying to be better at letting luca make messes. I just hate cleaning them up. I'm working on it. 

The other day I decided to let him play in a thing of whip cream. We still had 4 in our freezer from thanksgiving. Frozen chocolate pie has definitely been on my mind lately...I shouldn't but I probably will. Yum. 

I thawed one out and timed it perfectly with dads shower. I was going to leave him just in a diaper but the tub was wayyy too cold for that. So I had him in easy to take off jams. 

Don't worry. I cleaned the tub so so so so good after his last incident in there. Don't worry. 

He was intently waiting for me to open it. 

He touched it real slow and tried to shake it all off his hand, couldn't and touched again. 

And then he looked at his other clean hand and tried to figure out what was happening. He tried to clean his other hand again, and when that failed again e just gave in and dove right in. 

I left the spoon in there to see what he would do. He just used it to scoop for like 10 minutes. Then he realized it was a spoon and that is for his mouth. He licked it all off--I expected him to keep licking and cleaning his hands and everything else but he didn't! Just the spoon. He ate so much less than I expected! Which was a good thing. 

He loved his life in there. For a good long time. 

And then he tried to stand. And fell. And stood. And fell again. Over and over. Then it wasn't fun anymore. At all. 

I took his jams off and got the shower ready for him he was not happy to wait. But dad came in then to shower and that was perfect perfect timing! He got in with him, and was completely happy again of course. And I didn't have to clean him. Just the tub. 

And the walls that I found whip cream on later that day. I'm sure I'll find more.

It was worth it!! I have more plans in mind. Sensory play is so good for them! And good for me to learn that some messes are okay.
