This was one of our longest walking days by far. We didn't think it through ahead of time, and I am sad we didn't, but Jose downloaded a pedometer app so we could track how much we walked.
Before we got on the train we went to eat at this Dominican place for breakfast/lunch. Jose was in heaven, I was just eh.
Luca occupied himself in his own ways.
We headed back to the city, and went to see the Temple. I never realized how small it actually is--its only half of this building! And half of that seems to be a bunch of stuff too, there is a chapel in there, and a distribution center. And at the bottom on the left side of the building there is an art museum--just a random one, not church affiliated.
We went in just to see the stuff we could, and to feel normal for once--and used the cleanest bathrooms in the city.
This is what all of our pictures look like from behind, Luca does it all himself.
I remembered about family pictures as soon as we got back while we were here so we went into this random department store that someone gave us secret gift cards for, which of course were only worth $5 but we got some cheap stuff with them anyway. Turns out they were a department store for designer labels, so the prices are awesome, comparably, but we weren't about to spend $130 on a sweater.
Then we went to find serendipity--which was a bust. I went to get a good chandelier picture for sara, and see the coolness from the movie, but oh hey, no strollers allowed, so Jose stayed outside with Luca. I went up to find this.
Seriously?? Those plastic weird things instead of the beautiful chandeliers? Crazy heads. So. Bust number 1.
Then that. After we walked all the way back to find it had become an Apple store.
We wandered bloomingdales after that, I am sad I forgot to get a picture there too, Luca had fallen asleep so we just explored.
We stopped to get frozen yogurt, and I don't understand my brain when we go to these places. We go all the time here at home, and the same thing happens. I am a child. I need everything that sounds good, even if its gross together. And this is what I end up with.
Grossness. Maybe one day I can grow up.
See the ball way up there? That was the first time I noticed it.
Oh here is the good elevator picture from Macys--we went there for another diaper change, because it was close. Luca loves escalators more than anything, so we let him stand to go up and down them. This macys is seriously like 8 levels, of an entire block. Its crazy huge.
And understandably so, because there are crazy amounts of people.
Luca was a crazy head going home on the train so we let him stand when it wasn't super crowded, everyone watched and laughed at his weirdness, and probably judged my mothering because he fell at least 20 times and I never jumped up. He was never hurt, usually laughing, but still.
This was halfway across central park, and doesn't include our walk to and from the train station either. I think I already posted this too. Oh well.
Haha I doubt that your child is what people were judging on the subway....
ReplyDeleteAlso construction everywhere. So annoying. But hurray for all your walking!
O was talking about the other big glass building Apple Store. Haha that's funny I read this right after asking on the last post.
ReplyDeleteOH I'm so mad about FAO
