Regardless of how good our flights out were I was still stressing about going home, I knew there was no way we would get as lucky as we had before again. Especially so close to Christmas.
Our first flight was on a tiny plane and there was one extra seat so the last next to us moved there and Luca got his own! He liked that.
I discovered his love for post its while we were in ohio--he found some of Nicole's and tore them all apart. So I prepared myself with them for the flight! They were so handy!!
He chatted with the people behind us a bit. I'm pretty sure they were sleeping. But it didn't bother Luca.
We flew through Detroit this time--I'm pretty sure--we landed with a half hour to get to our new flight. We just made it and got right on as soon as we got to the gate. I thought that airport was small--I was wrong. We went underneath the whole thing across to the opposite terminal. The tunnels were dark but had bright lights flashing with the music. Luca was entertained.
Our flight home was FULL of missionaries headed home. It was an amazing thing to talk to some of them, and over hear others talking about their mixed emotions about going home. Several cried. It was sweet.
Luca is so used to missionaries he played with them all as laughed and laughed.
We were literally surrounded by them. 3 directly in front of us, two in front of them--one next to us, and like 4 behind and across. It was fun. The flight was completely full but Luca still did fabulously. We were on the isle so he walked back and forth playing with the missionaries and collecting pass along cards from some of them.
He crashed and slept after watching the free movies they let us watch! He fell asleep to frozen and slept for about and hour and a half.
We got home and the airport was completely PACKED with all the missionaries friends and families. It was an incredible thing to see the smiles and love coming from both sides! We felt famous for a second--even though nobody was actually yelling for us.
It was so busy Jose was waiting to park so we got our stuff (it was already waiting) and just met him outside.
Luca was so glad to be home and see his daddy again!! Again I failed at taking a picture. But you can imagine.
We were excited to be home and so sad to be back all at once. I wish I was loaded so I could have my own jet and go wherever I felt like whenever I felt like it. One day.
We loved visiting thanks for making it so fun family!! We miss you all like crazy!
We miss you like crazy, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd how fun to be on a plane full of missionaries to entertain Luca.
