Our Christmas this year was quiet and little. Jose had to go into work that night for a few hours so we had a christmas "dinner" for lunch. And by dinner I mean I made some ham steaks and potates because we never finish an entire ham. It was still delicious.
Jose had been working a ton--and we had just spent two weeks in ohio--and got back a week before Christmas. We were going to get a real tree, but the timing didn't work out so I just put up a fake one this year. I didn't even decorate it. But I really liked it without ornaments. Luca would have taken them all off anyway.
Luca loved all his new things and opening the presents. He was very concerned with being clean during that. He out every piece into the trash bin before going on to the next.
He was so proud. As was I. That's the hardest part about Christmas morning!
The first thing he saw and wanted were the cookies in his "stocking" they didn't actually fit so they were next to it.
He played and played all day long. Legos, magnet letters, stacking blocks and cookies. What could be better?
A little later in the day I saw this guy had been put so nicely back under the tree.
The missionaries stopped by--and played with all the toys too. Luca loves them. Elder Boyles (Oregon) and Elder Balledos (Phillipines) were here this year.
Before they left there was a snowball fight.
We tried out pasta playing on christmas too--kelly reminded me of the beauty of all the time it occupies. It's his favorite thing now--he begs for it--but always throws it so we have to put it away. He will learn eventually. I hope.
We are so bad at taking family pictures. We didn't take any!! Not even of our jams. Whatever. You can see them in the pictures a tiny.
We spent the day together and had a blast! It finally snowed all day on Christmas Day. That was perfect timing. I love this time of year and the way everyone is a little kinder. I hope I can be a little better at keeping that all year round. I want Luca to see it and want that as well.
Another newer thing Luca does--everyone he wants needs to fit on the same lap. He brings over all the animals he needs and then climbs on too. There are more examples of this coming.
We hope you all had a fabulous christmas!
