He has grown a ton lately and always wants to do something new. He learns new things everyday. Like how to be even more dramatic. That's what he works the hardest on. I can tell.
According to the smiths produce scale--which has been accurate before--he is 18lbs now! That's crazyness. He's still so tall and skinny, but he's getting some chunk on his little legs now and I love to punch it. Not hard though. Promise.
He has got the army crawl down pat--and knows it will get him where he wants to go, or to reach what he wants. He gets up on his knees constantly, and occasionally will use them but he's mainly working on his arm muscles.
His favorite toy is me. I sit on the floor and become his jungle gym. He climbs all over me, stands himself up, walks around me holding on to me, and dramatically falls into my lap for a good cry if he can't figure something out. He also has a strange love for thick wooden puzzle pieces. He would play with just those all day long.
He loves loves to pull himself up on anything he can reach and attempt to walk along it. He hangs off the sides of the couch, stands in his crib, on the sides of the laundry baskets, and his toy boxes.
He is eating like a champ. I hardly purée anything anymore!! He eats what we eat for the most part. He's loving chicken and rice, turkey, potatoes, mangoes, pasta, eggs, green beans and black beans. He insists most of the time on feeding himself. He wants to hold and move the spoon himself, or use his fingers of course.
He will entertain himself for quite a while now. It's beautiful when I need to get the dishes done, laundry folded or any other cleaning. Sometimes I just vacuum for him. He loves to watch it and chase it around, down on his tummy.
We still read harry potter a lot--and other books. He loves it. Although, probably not as much as music. He loves any and all music and will sit and watch or listen to whatever it is.
He loves to play the piano too. He will sit on my lap while Jose or I play and bang around, or just bang around on his own. He seems so satisfied when we let him. He gets that from his daddy.
He has become the most dramatic child ever. When he is tired of scooching around he will drop to the carpet and let out an anguished cry, or come and fall onto my lap to do it. When he gets hurt--if something he's playing with falls or hits him, or if he falls over trying to walk, he has the most pitiful face he puts on and special cry. It's actually pretty adorable.
He loves to copy our noises. It's a favorite game of his now. We are trying out new sounds. Basically it goes, "ah" "ah" "ah" "ah" fun, huh?? He also repeats "papa" and "mama" it's adorable.
He still loves to take baths and go swimming. He sits in the tub so well and scoots around for all his toys. He doesn't attempt to move too much in there yet--which I am grateful for.
He still loves arthur above anything else. Well--actually it's the only thing he will sit and watch. Which makes me both ashamed and proud. But mostly proud. He will also sit and watch the Barbie movies. Don't judge me. I actually like them. And so does Luca. And Thomas. Haha. :) again I think it's mostly the music that gets his attention. He will stop and listen to and watch intently any theme song to a show we watch.
He loves when dad comes home to play with him. They don't have to be doing anything but sitting together and he will laugh and laugh.
He loves his walker and takes it around wherever he can. He likes to watch me chop things in the kitchen. It's intriguing for him I guess.
I'm blown away still that it has been seven months but I can't wait to see what the next seven months bring!! We love our little Luca.
