The one where he is five months!

My babe is 5 months old people!! Good grief. I know I always say this but, holy cow it goes fast. Everyone tells you, you expect it, and yet it still takes you by surprise.

I love my babe and can't imagine going back to a life without a car seat, diaper bags, dirty diapers and constant spit up. He's so worth it!!

Here are some of the new things he can do, and has discovered.

-He watches me from across the room, and if I leave his sight he has it in his brain that I left forever and screams. So I have to keep talking to him so he knows I'm there, or just bring him with me.

-He hardly ever wants to lay down. He always wants to sit or stand. He will pull himself up to a sitting position if you don't do it for him. He's particular.

-He is eating so many different foods! He loves to suck on chunks alone but we have to put them in the mesh holder so he doesn't brake pieces off.

-He loves when dad puts him to bed because they stay up later. I always have to yell up the stairs to put him down and in bed because they just play and laugh forever instead.

-He makes so many noises now that he's discovering the full use of his voice, and with that comes the talent of barking himself to sleep. Seriously.

-Luca had his first hair cut. And did great! Of course he didn't know what was happening and just wanted to eat the cape, but hey it still counts!

-He loves to go swimming and he loves loves to swing down at the park.

-Everything goes straight to the mouth, or he does his best to get it to his mouth, like our forks if we are holding him. He has quite a grip--but hasn't own yet!

-He is always always kicking. His feet are constantly moving.

-He says "mama" although I'm very aware he doesn't know why. But sometimes it seems like he really is calling for me. And I love it.

-He still sucks on his fingers constantly, which we will end soon. I don't need a child sucking their fingers till they are five.

-He has started to actually take his own steps now if I hold him at the ground and move him.

He loves loves when daddy makes weird faces or noises at him, and thinks it's absolutely hilarious.

-He is soooo close to rolling over, he goes halfway, but he's still too skinny to have enough power for that.

-Our house has become a loud loud place. As he has discovered his voice even more he yells and calls out constantly.

-We still can't seem to get a for real giggle out of him, but he laughs ALL the time, and does this weird gurgley sound that could just as well be his giggle. :)

-His toes are his favorite source of entertainment lately. They will be in his mouth in no time I feel like.

-His favorite thing to pull his hair. And boy does he pull. He gets an incredibly good grip and could rip all the hairs from my head if he tried.

-When he wakes up in the morning he will just talk and talk to himself for like 20 minutes. I let him until he starts sounding irritated.  It makes getting up so much easier because it makes me smile. And he still sleeps in until about 8/8:30 so I can't complain really.

-He responds to his name and knows and responds to a few signs.

-He loves his jumper and can actually reach the floor to bounce around. He can spin the chair around to get to his favorite toys too.

Overall he is an incredibly happy mellow child. We lucked out with an awesome baby. We love having him in our lives and never thought anyone could take up so much room in our hearts!!
